Vitamins for Children

The most important way for children to get all of the vitamins they must have, is through
eating a good diet, balanced with all the proper foods. They should bepresented with foods from a variety of. food groups, and meals should be served that work together to provide your young ones all the proper nutrients. They need fresh fruits, vegetables, lean
meats, fish, whole grains, milk, cheese, and other foods to remain healthy.
Some kids jump at the chance to eat all of the food groups in the necessary quantity, but certainly not all
of them. A few kids are rather selective, and barely eat healthy at all. It is for children like this that
childrens vitamins were designed. A number of children eat many
foods that are processed, and do not contain any viable nutrients.
Just like grown ups, kids should have a diet that is good for them as well.
Unhealthy eating could cause younger ones to have problems learning as they should. It is
very hard to learn when your body and brain aren’t getting the vitamins they need.
For children that will not eat as they encouraged, they can take childrens vitamins to help fill in the
nutritional vaccuum. This a replacement for poor eating, as the best sources for nutrients
are from vegetables. Frequentlyprovide good food to your children, and try different ways to get them
interested. For times when all else fails, chewable vitamins can be
given.
One of the important things missing in childrens diets, are the omega three essential fatty acids. They are needed for the nervous system and brain function, and this is something that is definetly vital all through the school year. You can find
this fatty acid in pumpkin seeds, tuna, flax oil, and canola oil. For kids that dislike fish, it
might also be taken as a kids vitamin.
If young oneswill not eat fruits and vegetables, then they more than likely aren’t
getting the right amount of Vitamin C in their daily diets. It is also critical for the immune system
to function as properly to keep kids healthy, and for building connective tissue. It also blocks free radicals, and is
necessary for the brain to think as well.
B complex vitamins have many functions, and some are involved in the metabolism of carbohydrates. If a young
one eats a diet high in sugar and starch, they may lack B vitamins.
Manydoctors believe that lots of nutrients have been taken out of the
soil, so they are also missing in fruits and vegetables as well. Calcium and magnesium are required to build strong bones, zinc is vital for the immune system, and chromium helps in carbohydrate metabolism.
For most adolescents, high quality childrens vitamins, along with omega three necessary fatty
acids, is a good idea to take daily. If a young one has health concerns, they may need some other
type of vitamin, so find out from your doctor first.
When you purchase chewable vitamins for kids, be sure that they are purchased from a nutrition or health store. They come in the
form of liquid, capsules, and tablets as well. If a family takes the proper vitamins for women, men and children, then the whole family will live a healthier life.
